Quantum entropy sources

Carlos Abellan (Quside)

ABSTRACT:

Randomness is a fundamental resource in many IT fields, including cybersecurity and high-performance computation. However, generating good random numbers, adequate for ensuring long-term security and privacy, is a challenging engineering task, as it requires taking samples from a physical system. In this lecture we will review progress on quantum-based entropy source design, a fascinating topic at the intersection of IT, engineering and physics.
